Over the years, audiovisual technicians in San Diego have worked with their employers to establish a standard for living wages in their industry. This has enabled many of them to raise families and give back to their communities, creating a middle class tax base in San Diego that helps pay for the schools, public libraries and essential services we all depend on.
However, one AV provider, the American Audio Visual Center, is trying to get a foothold in the industry by selling their employees short. American AVC is choosing to pay below the area’s standards, slashing wages and benefits across the board by as much as 15%.
The American Audio Visual Center’s business practices don’t just threaten the livelihood of many AV techs; they threaten the businesses and communities that rely on these jobs. San Diego has some of the most trained, skilled, and qualified AV techs in the region. Their employers have made an investment in these workers because they know that is how you get quality, competitive services.
Don’t let American AVC turn good jobs into poverty wages here in San Diego. Please sign our petition, and help keep San Diego’s workforce strong.
